As someone who once worked at a ranch with various farms animals. This was a regular occurrence…
Chicks would sometimes wander out of the hen house and into the horses stables. (Yes, we did end up moving the hen house as far as possible.) Most horses on a good day wouldn't mind, but the more emotionally impulsive ones would gobble up any chick that got too close.
